WrenchFair is designed to work without an account. Most diagnostic activity happens in your browser, and we do not sell your personal data.
If you save a vehicle in My Garage, WrenchFair stores the nickname, year, make, and model in your browser’s localStorage. That garage data stays on the device and browser where you saved it; WrenchFair does not upload it to a server. You can remove vehicles with the Remove control, or clear the site’s browser data to erase the garage.
When you choose to decode a VIN, WrenchFair sends that VIN to the public NHTSA vPIC API and displays the vehicle details it returns. The request is subject to NHTSA’s systems and policies. A VIN can identify a specific vehicle, so use the decoder only if you are comfortable sending it to NHTSA.
WrenchFair does not require or provide user accounts. We do not sell personal data. Diagnostic searches and quote checks do not require your name or contact information.
If you submit a launch-notification email, email a diagnosis, or report a repair, the information you enter is sent through Formspree so the requested message can be delivered. Do not include sensitive personal information in free-text fields.
